A project supported by FON – CREA, implemented to reduce gender and sexuality-based violence under the title “Raise Her Voice Against Violence.” It covers all 16 Divisional Secretariat Divisions in the Puttalam District.
Many female sex workers in Sri Lanka experience physical, psychological, verbal, sexual, economic, technological, and legal violence due to deep-rooted gender norms. This project aims to empower these women and raise awareness in society through targeted interventions.

Key Objectives

Project Highlights

  • Establishment of a safe space and empowerment center.
  • Conducting health, psychological, and legal clinics.
  • Formation of an art group led by members to creatively express gender issues.
  • Documenting real experiences through:
    • A story archive titled “Her Voice the World Didn’t Hear”
    • Social media publications
  • Organizing dialogues with government officials.
  • Developing a website, Facebook page, and YouTube channel to amplify unheard voices and raise public awareness.
